Matilde Gutierrez-August 25, 2011

Matilde Gutierrez, 78, of Amarillo, died on Thursday, August 25, 2011.
Services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Jeff Messer officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Gutierrez was born on March 4, 1933 in Willard, New Mexico to Felipe Contreras and Rosaura Lueras.  She lived in Plainview most of her life.
She is preceded in death by husband, Gilbert Gutierrez; and son, Benito Marroquin.
Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Garcia, Rockwall, TX, Rita Saldivar of Lubbock, TX, Rafaela “Lita” Lopez of Plainview, TX, Lydia Davila of Whitney, TX, and Rosalinda Villalon of Amarillo, TX; sons, Rudy Marroquin of Austin, TX, Robert Marroquin and Eddie “Cookie” Marroquin, both of Plainview, TX; sisters, Mary Garcia of Willard, NM, Lori Gonzales of Estancia, NM, Ramona Floyd of Edgewood, NM, Elena Mason of Q. Cove, B.C., Canada, and Isabel Quillin of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Benito Contreras of San Leandro, California, Eddie Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM, Rito Ortiz of Willard, NM, Bernie Lueras of Willard, NM and Gilbert Miradal of Gallop, NM; twenty-two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
