Mary Jane Monroe, 78, of Dumas, died Thursday, February 23, 2012.
Funeral services will be at the Calvary Baptist Church on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Tommy Roberts and Brad Foster, officiating. Burial will follow at Northlawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 500 N. Maddox, Dumas, TX.
Mary was born on August 14, 1933 in Terrero, New Mexico to John and Odie McDuff. She had been a waitress for 21 years and her last job was as a CNA for the nursing home and families personal homes.
She was preceded in death by her father, John McDuff; her mother, Odie Helms; her son, Gary Roberts and her brother, David McDuff.
She is survived by one daughter, Janie & Larry Venable of Dumas; one son, Tommy Roberts of Wagoner, OK.; twin sister, Ella Jean Woodson & husband, Clarence of Muleshoe; one brother, Gerald McDuff & wife Tina of Santa Fe, NM.; a half brother, John McDuff and a half sister, Shirley McDuff; and a step sister, Mary Catherine and 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Memorial Hospice in Dumas, Texas.
