Lois Bobbitt-May 1, 2011

Lois Bobbitt, 94, of Amarillo died on Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Llano Cemetery with Chaplain Alan Williamson, of Park Central Retirement Center, officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Bobbitt was born on March 1, 1917 in Cleburne, Texas to Henry Grady and Goldie Pond Persons.  She married Glenn Bobbitt on May 15, 1937, south of Canyon at the family home.  They had a beautiful life together for over seventy-two years.
Lois will always be remembered for her love of life, family and friends.  She never stepped out the door without looking like a vision of beauty.  After retirement, she and Glenn spent many years traveling in their motor home, enjoying the experience of meeting new people and seeing many different states.  She had a wide range of interests including golf, crafts, cooking and playing bridge.  She will be missed very much.
Lois was a member of First Christian Church in Amarillo.  She loved the Lord and often spoke of how she had been so blessed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 2009, a daughter, Jan, a sister, Wynelle Harlan and two brothers, W. B. and Glenn Persons.
Survivors include her brother, Dana Persons, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105, to First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin Ave. Amarillo, TX 79109, or to a favorite charity.

  1. Auntie Lois will be missed greatly. She and Uncle Glenn had such a beautiful life together. A wonderful example for all married couples. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
