Jenny “Sue” Avery, 74, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Kurt Oheim of Pinnacle Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Avery was born Feb. 9, 1937 in Borger to Elton and Hilda Adams. She graduated from Phillips High School. She married Jake Avery in Pasadena in 1962. She worked for Pacific Finance and Russell Buick as a title clerk and acted as clerk for Justice of the Peace in Potter County Precinct 3 for twenty-one years. Mrs. Avery attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was involved with the Khiva Shrine Temple with her late husband, Jake and was a member of the Red Hat Club.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Donaldson in 2010; and husband, Jake in 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Avery Cooper and Shanna Uhrich and husband Steve, all of Amarillo; a son, Clay Avery of Amarillo; a son-in-law, Kyle Donaldson of Odessa; two brothers-in-law, James Avery and wife Mary Beth and Charles Avery, all of Amarillo; known as Momma Sue to eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the funeral home.
