Elvin Delano Lamb, 80, of Amarillo, TX died September 14, 2020.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Llano East Cemetery, with The Rev. Dede Schuler Ballou officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Elvin was born on July 21, 1940, in Wheeler County, Texas to Panhandle pioneers; Roy Martin Lamb and Alta Mae Morgan Lamb.
He is survived by his wife Angela Kay Lamb of 56 years, and son Clarence Leroy Lamb. His daughter Heavenly Kay Lamb preceded him in death in 2019.
Throughout his life he was known to many as a master cattleman and farmer in Texas and New Mexico. He loved the land and the crops and livestock that it bore and approached his life of work with determination, kindness, and compassion for the men, women, and animals that were under his purview. He began living the sober life in 1978 and was friend and sponsor to many and always made time to sit and drink a cup of coffee and share the lessons of his life and provide counsel to others. Elvin wore some big boots and a big hat and the space left by his passing is immense and shall be missed.

My friend, Elvin. I will never forget when I was going through a tough time in my life about 2 years ago; you would come to comfort me and brought some precious gifts that I cherish to let me know you were thinking about me. At that time you were my only friend it seemed.

This year has been really a rough one for your Family and I am so sorry! I am truly blessed to have cared for Heavenly & to become acquainted with you all! She was so proud of her family! I send my deepest condolences to y’all. I had a lot fun memories with Elvin growing up in Bushland. He would always make me laugh with his quick witted jokes. The Thanksgivings and dinners y’all would host brought my family joy. I always appreciated his farming and ranching wisdom that he passed onto Dad. Elvin will dearly missed. Prayers for your family.

Was so sorry to hear of Elvin’s passing. He was a gentle and kind man in so many respects.
When I think of him, I remember his smile and his laughter. He indeed was one of a kind with stories that made you laugh and made you think.
May you find comfort and strength through the many years of memories filled with his laughter, followed with his smiles. May you always be reminded of his love in the smallest of things…. and may you find peace thru his passing and know that you will see him again.

So sad to read of Elvin’s passing. He and his humor were one of my favorite memories through the years. It seem we would go years without seeing each other and then I’d see him and Angela and we would pick up right where we left off. Such a loss to so many. May your soul rest and be free in eternity.

Our wonderful Elvin was a larger than life and always full of life West Texas farmer, rancher, and cowboy. When he and my dear cousin Angela married, we always said he also married my brother Joe, my sister Judith, and me.
He was an eloquent raconteur, always entertaining, humble man of the people, whom he loved so much and who returned that love tenfold.
