Elva Esqueda Casarez, 61, of Amarillo, TX passed away September 11, 2020.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Monday, September 14, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4112 S.E. 25th Ave. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Elva was born in Lubbock, TX on May 11, 1959, to Ignacio and Olivia Esqueda.

Survivors include her parents, Ignacio and Olivia Esqueda, of Hereford, TX; daughter, Erica Casarez, of Amarillo, TX; sons, Joe Casarez and wife Jessica, of Amarillo, TX, and John Mark Casarez and wife Chrystal, of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Richard Esqueda and wife Karen, of Hereford, TX, and Robert Esqueda and wife Andrea, of Canyon, TX; sisters, Elda Sturgeon and husband Joe, of Hereford, TX, and Edna Esqueda, of Amarillo, TX; and six grandchildren, Noah, Cassandra, Olivia, Nathaniel, Jaxon, and Sophia.

Viewing will be available from 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 14, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

  1. Was so sorry to hear of Elva’s passing. My deepest condolences to the Esqueda & Casarez Family. I knew Elva and she was a very caring & truly awesome friend. May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our Father Jesus Christ.

  2. While I never had the opportunity to meet Elva, I know her son Juan (Joe) Casarez and I believe through knowing him, I have known a part of her. My deepest condolences to the entire family during this time of bereavement. God’s peace is our greatest prize and Elva has the victory.
