Johnson Obit PhotoDonnie Ray Johnson, 64, of Dumas, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe officiating.  Graveside services will be at 2:30 P.M. at the Shamrock Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Donnie was born on Aug. 25, 1950 in Shamrock to Daylon and Dollie Johnson.  He married Margie Smith on Sept. 15, 1972, in Amarillo. He was a teacher and coach at Boys Ranch, Sunray and Dumas.  He was an avid sports fan.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Larry.

Survivors include his wife Margie of the home; a son, Jeremy Johnson of Watonga, Okla.; a daughter, Amanda Johnson of Dumas; his mother, Dollie Johnson of Shamrock; and grandchildren, Gage Johnson and Kohanna Johnson of Dumas.

    My deepest condolences! Coach will be missed 🙁 I would like for you to know coach was a big part of my life during my school years from Jr High to High school he kept a sharp eye on me lol To this day I still talk about what coach would tell me about our sports experiences! He will be missed!! God bless

    Tommy and I are so sorry to hear of Donnie’s passing. I loved working with him at DJHS. His infectious smile and kind words made him endearing. His love for his family and his faith in our Lord shown all about him. Our hearts are heavy but his burden has been lifted and I know he will rejoice when we join him in our Heavenly Home. Your family is lifted in prayers for your comfort.

  8. I can’t begin to tell how sorry I am for your loss. Donnie was such a special man. I remember Clint telling me once that he really wasn’t as tough as he seemed, that he was just a big old teddy bear inside. I know how much he loved you and the kids.
