Virginia (Ginger) Wallace Burnett
Was born in Wichita, Kansas, on October 19, 1924 and passed away on April 24, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas. Nana, as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Wallace and Sylvia Asher, and brother Sam Wallace, Jr., who was killed in action on Iwo Jima. Ginger moved from Wichita, KS in 1952 with her family to Amarillo, Texas, where she lived the rest of her life. She and her husband Bob raised three sons, whom she was most proud of and considered them to be her greatest accomplishment in life. Kim Burnett of Memphis, TX, Rhys Burnett of New Orleans, LA, and Blaine Burnett of Amarillo, TX. Ginger was a born again Christian, and was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. She spent her life lover her 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and her dog Misty. Ginger was a lady of great beauty and style. She loved Christmas, which was evident by the most beautiful wrapped Christmas packages you can imagine. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed playing with close friends and family. She will be dearly missed by her family. Burial services are being handled by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors in Amarillo. A private grave-site service will be held at Llano Cemetery.
