Robert (Bob) Flowers – January 29, 2018

Robert (Bob) Flowers, 80, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully in his home on January 29, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:30 PM at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel in Amarillo.  Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Robert Flowers was born on February 27, 1937 in Tulia, Texas.  He served in the US Navy SEABEES as a construction electrician.  He married Dorothy Lee Luper on June 13, 1958, and they raised four children.  Together, they opened the first Century 21 Real Estate franchise in Amarillo.  Bob was in the real estate business for over 50 years.  He had a love for people, and he was a firm believer that every family should own their own home.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Flowers and Christine Flowers, brother, Jimmy Flowers, and one grandson.  He is survived by his brother, Vernon Flowers and his wife Linda; and his sister, Utonna Moore; four children, Dianne Foust and her husband Brian, Kyle Flowers, Shelly Garcia and her husband Kenny, Renee James and her husband Bill; eleven grandchildren and their spouses, seventeen great-grandchildren; two additional great-grandchildren to be born later this year, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    So sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. He was our realtor for the first home we bought in 1969 when we were a young couple who didn’t know anything about owning a home. We talked to him several times through the years and he was always helpful when we had any real estate question. Our prayer are with the family. Bob, you will be missed.

    The words to a song comes to mind at this time, “Rest Easy Dear Friend, your time of work is done.” Bob was a deligent worker and a wonderful long time friend. He will be remembered.

    I was in Mortgage loans many years. Bob and I helped many people get a home. He was a kind man. A very good friend and he will be missed. Rest in peace.
