Richard Eugene Dwight – March 1, 2018

Richard Eugene Dwight, 85, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G.A. Roach officiating. Arrangements by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Richard was born January 31, 1933, in Amarillo, Texas to Jesse Marion and Margie Dwight. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War, Artillery Division.  He was a retired locomotive engineer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Nicole Ann Dwight; great-granddaughter, Madison Powers; his brothers, Buddy, John, Robert, and Bernie; and his sisters, Margie and Mary.
Survivors include his children, Danny Dwight of Amarillo; Timber Lee Potts and husband James Edward of Hedley, Paul Dwight of Amarillo, and Kirk Dwight and wife Beverly of Hedley; grandchildren, James Lee Potts, Tessa Powers, Chris Dwight, Haley Dwight, and Kristen Dwight; and great-grandchildren, Chevy Miller, Tristan Powers, and Eva Jade Potts.

    I loved this man. Met him at Sam’s quickway where i worked from 2003 to 2006. Such a kind soul. He spoke often of his son danny and hunting in headly. He always brightened my day. R.I.P. Richard. Youve earned your halo..
