R. Bruce Autry, 81, of Amarillo died Sunday, December 23, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m., in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Bobby File, pastor at Evangelical Fellowship officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Autry was born September 6, 1931 in Amarillo to Bruce Euel and Goldie Randles Autry. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949 and from Texas Tech University in Lubbock in 1953. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954 – 1956. Bruce served as president of the Downtown Kiwanis Club in 1964. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce Roundup committee. He owned and operated Bruce Autry Printing with his father until 1967 and his son until 1994. Bruce loved to travel and especially loved his cabin in the mountains in N.E. New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna Taylor, and his wife Dorothy Shaw Autry.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Clay Autry and wife Pamela; Robert Blake Autry and wife Denise; four grandchildren, Aaron Bruce Autry, Marianne Autry Nabors and husband Brian, Lauren Autry Lusk and husband Chance and Kristen Autry; his special great-grandchildren including, Avery Victoria, Jackson Bruce, Brooklyn Reese and Hallie Paige, all of Amarillo; and a host of friends who he especially enjoyed at the Saturday for Lunch Bunch.,
