Mary Ellen Gambrell

Mary Ellen Gambrell, 50, of Amarillo died Monday, October 1, 2018.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother.  Mary was an amazing person. She loved her children, grandchildren and family. Everyone she met loved her.  Her heart was made of gold. She was loving, caring, and compassionate.  She worked at Texas Panhandle Centers for 12 years.  She loved the Dallas Cowboys and she enjoyed bowling, shopping, spending quality time with friends and family.

She will be missed by so many people.  But never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael James Johnson Junior; her mother, Dalia Sandoval; and her grandparents, Aurora and Jesus Valle.

Survivors include her daughter, Erica Johnson of Amarillo, Tx; sons, Ben Najera of Amarillo, Tx , and Raul Najera and wife Elizabeth of Andrews, Tx;  grandchildren, Leonardo Najera, Brylee Najera, and Mia Najera; sisters, Josie Najera and husband Antonio of Hereford, Tx, and Brenda Barrientos of Odessa, Tx; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

    My deepest condolences to the family. I know she will be missed so much. She always talked of her kids and grands! She loved y’all so much. She will be missed by so many people. She touched lives with her work and she loved all the special people she helped take care of. I am proud to call her “friend”. Much love to you all.
