Jo Robinson – February 5, 2018

Jo Robinson peacefully passed away on February 5, 2018, surrounded by her family.  After forty-two years, she will be reunited with her husband, Bill.  They will forever reside in God’s loving care.
Jo was born in Childress, TX, on August 13, 1930 to Bill and Mae Hix.  She attended schools in Childress; she always said that she got the best education in Childress.  This wonderful educational background inspired her to get her degree in education from West Texas State University in 1968.  Jo taught second grade at Olsen Park Elementary for twenty-five years; countless students acquired their reading, writing, and math skills in her classroom.  For Jo, education was the ticket to success.  She insisted that both granddaughters get advanced degrees in their respective fields.
After her retirement, she took up the hobby of oil painting.  Her paintings will serve as a reminder of her talent and her personality.  She also liked to enjoy time with her friends and grandchildren.
For the past 4 ½ years, Jo has been a resident of Brookdale Sleepy Hollow; she loved living there.  The family would like to thank the staff of the facility for their loving, compassionate care.  The family would also like to thank Open Heart Hospice. Their compassionate care allowed Jo to pass with grace and dignity.
Jo is survived by:  her daughter, Debbie Rhea and husband, Larry; her sister Norma Halford, her granddaughter, Jacquelyn Marr and husband, Brady; her granddaughter, Melissa Rhea; and great grandchildren, Corbin and Blakely Marr.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 9, 2018, at Brookdale Sleepy Hollow.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
