Jeffrey Todd Allwein, 52. of Amarillo died Monday, February 12, 2018
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Washington Avenue Christian Church.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jeffrey was born June 2, 1965, in Amarillo to Harry and Linda Allwein.  He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1983, Alumni of Maverick Boys Club, and attended Henderson State University on a Swim Scholarship.  He worked at several optical centers, The Discovery Center, was a newspaper pressman with Amarillo Globe News, and presently worked at the print shop at Affiliated Foods.
Survivors include his mother, Linda Borden of Amarillo, his daughter, Jenna Allwein of Amarillo, two brothers, Monte Allwein of Lampasas, and Steven Allwein of Amarillo, two nephews, Austin Allwein of Amarillo and August Allwein, of Lampasas; and a niece, Michelle Allwein, of Lampasas.

    My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff and his family. Jeff was an inspiration to me in many ways, and I am thankful I was able to learn from him. He challenged me to be a better person and swimmer.

    Jeff was a good friend and co-worker at the Globe-News. I will always remember his bright smile and friendly nature.

    Monte–I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother. I am August’s godmother, remember? I tried to get to the funeral, but I’m so sorry that I missed. I do want you to know that I am thinking of you and praying that you to find God’s Peace in your grief journey. Please contact me, I would love to hear from you. May God hold you close to his heart.
