Jack Blaylock – January 18, 2012

Jack Blaylock, 89, of Amarillo, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with Dr. G.A. Roach, officiating.  Military rites will be by the Navy.    Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jack was born on December 29, 1923, in Rush Springs, Okla. to Fate and Katy Blaylock.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  Jack had worked as a mechanic in Pampa where he owned Jack’s Truck Shop.  After he sold his shop, he went into construction with his brother and operated a cherry picker for many years.
He married Evelyn Stevens on October 18, 1946, in Shamrock.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Monroe and a grandson, Jack Dale Blaylock.
Jack is survived by his wife, Evelyn Blaylock of Amarillo; a son, Bill Blaylock and wife Dalena of Amarillo; a sister, Helen Mann of San Angelo; and three grandchildren, Ricky Mendenhall, Shawn Blaylock, and Courtney Gazzaway.
