Gladys Marie Jarrard, 90, of Amarillo died Wednesday, December 13, 2017.
Graveside services will be at noon, Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Gladys was born April 18, 1927, in Wilson, Oklahoma to Robert and Beulah Suttle. She and Herman lived in Oklahoma City, Pampa, Ardmore, and then 17 years ago she moved back to Amarillo where she lived at Park Place Towers and her last home at Moore Assisted Living.
To Gladys, family and her relationship with Christ were the most important things. She was a member of Eastern Star, and served as the Worthy Grand Matron of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, of 43 years.
Survivors include a son, Gary Jarrard and wife Sharon, of Edmond, Oklahoma; a daughter, Linda Hall and husband Jack, of Amarillo; a sister, Elsie Wilson, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jason Hall and wife Kristi and Jacinda Upchurch and husband Bart, all of Amarillo and Jennifer Oliver and husband David, of Edmond, Oklahoma; and 9 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
The family suggests memorials to Baptist Community Services, Hope Fund, 701 Park Place Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101 to honor the loving employees that cared for Gladys.
