For years I would see Fred when I introduced him at the yearly Claude ISD veterans program. Each year I would sit with him as we would brag together about our kids, grandkids and the great grandkids …he would tell me about Betty and I would lovingly gripe about Doug. This last year several were missing from the program. First thing I checked on his health and heard he was failing. My regret is that I did not stop by Washburn and check on him. He loved his family unconditionally ..I cared about him and I knew if I ever needed anything he would come running..he was a friend of mine. Thanks goes to God for letting me know this aggravating, honest man.

Freida, I think you are a wonderful person and cousin who has devoted many years taking of your parents (my aunt & uncle). I am truly grateful I was able to visit with you all last year. A time I will always remember. I will miss the phone calls with him, the jokes and the surprise visits Pete made up north through the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Betty (Mom) through these times. Remember, I am only a phone call away when you want to talk.
