Emily Marie Wolff, 94, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Rev. David Schatte of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. (MST) in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Wolff was born July 31, 1917, in Fayette County, near Warda, Texas to Richard and Marie (Hanusch) Walther. Emily married Anton J. Wolff, December 25, 1935, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, Texas. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death. She helped her husband farm and ranch in Abernathy for over 50 years. In 1992, they moved to Hobbs, New Mexico to be near family. Then in 2007, Mrs. Wolff again moved to Canyon to be near family and moved to Amarillo in 2012, as her health declined. Mrs. Wolff was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
She was preceded in death her husband, Anton Wolff, January 2, 1998; three brothers in infancy; one brother; and six sisters.
The family wishes to say a special “Thank You” to members of Comfort Care and Interim Healthcare Hospice for their love and care of our sweet mother.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Bernhardt and husband Gene of Amarillo and Sandra Lindsey and husband Charles of Mesquite; three grandchildren, Stephen Bernhardt and wife Kelly and David Bernhardt and partner, Cindy Folk, all of Amarillo, and Erika Dorsey and husband Tony of Terrell; two great-granddaughters, Tasha Porter and husband Steve of Canyon and Heather Perkins and husband Ty of Amarillo; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kevin, Keith and Reagan Elizabeth Porter of Canyon.
The family suggests memorials be to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141.
