Edna Louise McInturff, 84, of Amarillo, formerly of Dumas, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in the chapel at Polk Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lane Boyd, chaplain at The Craig Methodist Retirement Community, officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, north of Dumas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Louise was born the youngest of four children on Dec. 3, 1928, in Enid, OK to Ella and Clyde Willis. After attending public schools in Diamond, MO, she married C.R. McInturff in Neosho, MO. The couple later moved to Dumas.
Louise worked in Dumas as a telephone operator for 24 years.
She and C.R. enjoyed summer camping trips in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado with their two daughters during the girls’ early years. Later, Louise and C.R. had great fun gardening, boating, and fishing until moving into a retirement community in Amarillo, to reside closer to family. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.R., her sister, Jean Conner, and by two brothers, Doug Willis and Jack Willis.
Survivors include a daughter, Tamra and husband Rev. Lane Boyd of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda and husband Robert Snyder of Graham, NC; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Building Fund of Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk, Amarillo, TX 79101.
