Benigna Ocasio, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, June 25, 2012.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Curtis Redmond officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Ocasio was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Trijullo Alto, Puerto Rico to Claudio Ocasio and Elena Vizcarrondo. She was a seamstress for more than 50 years. Mrs. Ocasio lived in Amarillo for the last 5 to 6 years. She loved to play bingo and go to the casinos.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Martinez.
Survivors include her son, Juan Martinez, Jr. of Amarillo; a daughter, Olga Ceasar of Amarillo; and a brother, Francisco Ocasio of New York; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 6pm-8pm, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
