Barry Lee McCollum, 64, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Memorial Park Cemetery with Jim Powell officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Barry Lee McCollum was born Oct. 11, 1948, to Bill McCollum and Billie Faye McCollum. In 1964, Clovis West became Barry’s daddy and raised him to be the man he was. Barry worked along with his daddy several years in the concrete business. He worked for BSA as a CNA for four years. Barry married the love of his life, Gayle Smith, on Nov. 25, 1972 in Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, Clovis West; his grandparents; and two uncles.
Survivors include his wife Gayle McCollum, of Amarillo; his mother, Billie West, of Amarillo; a sister, Becky Sinks of Amarillo; three brothers, Bruce McCollum of Amarillo, Skeeter West of Weston, FL, and Ronnie Stevens of Las Vegas, Nevada; Barry adored his niece, Kathy Otterstein and her husband Bruce of Amarillo. He also adored his great-niece, Brooklyn Otterstein; and a great-nephew, Alex Otterstein of Amarillo.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
