Andy was born February 18, 1941, in Barberton, Ohio to Andrew John Nagy, Sr. and Mary Nagy. He moved to Amarillo to be with his grandchildren in November of 1994. Andy worked as a mechanic in Ohio and worked blending feed products in Amarillo, until his retirement in 2004. Andy was also a veteran and was very proud to have served his country. He married the love of his life, Judy, on February 2, 1963.
Andy enjoyed the freedom of his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop and made many beautiful things. He was very talented in his work. He and Judy enjoyed going out to eat and just spending time together. The thing he enjoyed most was spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren, Dakota and Conner Aston and Billy, Chris and Becky Brooks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew John Nagy, Sr. (1983) and Mary Nagy (1975), and sisters Caroline Rauch of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Kopco of Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Ann Nagy Clark of Barberton, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Nagy, daughter Paula and husband Mark Brooks and their three children and daughter Laura and husband Casey Aston and their two sons. He is also survived by his brother Ed Nagy of Troy, Ohio and sisters Edna Dierker of Uniontown, Ohio, Fran Kosuth and Eleanor Stetz of Barberton, Ohio and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family would like to thank the very professional but personal care given to Andy by the Amarillo VA Hospital and the Hospice Center of the Southwest. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either of these wonderful services in his name.
