Zillman Parsons "Jack" Sheldon – February 3, 2012

Zillman Parsons “Jack” Sheldon, 92, of Amarillo died on Friday, February 3, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Reverend Robert D. Taliaferro officiating.  Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
He was born in Sabetha, Kansas, December 4, 1919, son of Byron and Stacia Sheldon.   Jack graduated from Sabetha High School, Washburn University and Washburn Law School in Topeka, Kansas. He was on the Law Review Board, and was a member of Delta Theta Phi fraternity.  During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corp. In 1945, he married Marjorie Benson also of Sabetha.  He taught at Sabetha High School and practiced Law in Sabetha and served as Nemaha County Attorney.  In 1960 while working for Phillips Petroleum Company they moved to Amarillo, Texas.  At the time of his retirement he was employed by the Field Solicitors Office Department of Interior. Jack was a member of Saint Peters Episcopal Church, serving as a Law Reader and Senior Warden. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maxine Gill of Bend, Oregon and Jean Richter of Gold Canyon, Arizona; and a son, Jeffry of New Lebanon, New York.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Sheldon; and a daughter, Jan Allen of Bellville, Texas.
The family suggests memorials to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4714 NW 4th Ave, Amarillo, TX  79106.
