Wynona Vivian Blackwell – March 12, 2011

Wynona Vivian Blackwell, 61, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 12, 2011.   Services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Claude Chapel, 200 Parks in Claude.   Burial will be at the Claude Cemetery.   Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Wynona was born on July 10, 1949 in Dumas, Texas to Kozell and Anna Beth Boren.   She was raised in Dumas and later moved to Lubbock and then made her home in Amarillo after retiring from the City of Lubbock as a police dispatcher.   She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Mitch Blackwell and wife Kimberly of Ft. Worth, Todd Peden and wife Billie of Claude; her father, Kozell Boren of Longbeach, California; a brother, Tommy Boren of Torrance, California; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie, and Kyndal, all of Claude.
Viewing will be in Amarillo at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 14, 2011 and the family suggests memorials be sent to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, Texas  79106.

  1. I loved Vivian and Anna Beth; making many great memories throughout our childhood. Vivian was one of my very good friends growing up in Dumas. I had lost touch with your mom and wondered where she was so many times. I wish I could have at least talked with her. My thoughts are with you at this time of your loss.
