Willie Margaret Williams, 82, of Amarillo, TX passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2019, at Covenant Fellowship Church, 8501 S Coulter with Reverend Stephen Gaines, pastor, and Reverend Thomas Moore, teaching pastor officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Margaret was born May 10, 1937, in Tupelo, Mississippi to Fount and Ouida Kilgo. She moved with her family to Amarillo during junior high school and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1955. She met the love of her life, Raymond Loyd Williams in 1956 and they were married on July 19, 1957. They were married just months shy of 52 years before Loyd’s passing in 2009.
Margaret had a zest for life and was known for her cooking all done with “pinches and pours” as measuring tools. She loved to nurture and take care of others and received blessings through her ministry of cleaning the church on Monday after Sunday services and assisting with visitation to those in nursing home facilities.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, and husband.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Dane and Kathy Williams, Randy and Kerry Williams, and Lori and Ray Flores; eight grandchildren, Michael, Karalee, Kyle, Luke, Bailey, Meaghan, Jaelynn, and Madi; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Dane, Randy, and Lori –
We were so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing away. Mom’s are truly special people in our lives. How fortunate I am to have come to know your mom and dad when they lived in Nebraska. All the best to each of you.
