William “Bill” E. Green, 85, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with the Rev. Leon Green of Bolton Street Baptist Church. Interment will be at Palo Duro Cemetery at Wildorado. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Green was born Dec. 22, 1926 in Wildorado to Alfred and Floyce Green. Bill was a Navy veteran and served his country faithfully during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post #1475, Amarillo Senior Citizens, and Forty-Five Upper Dance Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cecile Maxine Stephens; a daughter, Doris Jean Jefferson; and a son, Norman Earl Green.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Green of Amarillo; a brother, Al Green of Wildorado; a daughter, Cheryl Upshaw of Greenville; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Palo Duro Cemetery, P.O. Box 82, Wildorado, TX 79098.
