Wesley Earl Barley, 81, of Dumas died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, in 6th and Meredith Church of Christ in Dumas. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.
Wesley was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Amarillo to Samuel and Golda Barley. He married Hazel Anglin on March 1, 1951, in Clayton, N.M.
Wesley enjoyed his volunteer work with the Dumas community. He was a lifelong resident of Dumas and 6th and Meredith Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He retired as chief laboratory chemist.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Trina Dawn Withers; two brothers, Burl Barley and Paul Barley; and a sister, Nathalie Purvis.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Barley; a son, Terrance Barley of Dumas; a granddaughter, Kanda Vazquez of Stinnett; a grandson, Michael Withers of Amarillo; four sisters, Naomi Cash of Dumas, Alice Kay Grundy of Georgia and Aleene Richards and Joyce Burrell, both of Fort Worth; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon and Rebecca; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Moore County Senior Center, 701 E. 16th St., Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
