Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Llano Cemetery with Fr. Anthony “Tony” Neusch of St. Mary’s Cathedral officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Warren was Born on January 5, 1934 to Floy and Warren Freeman, Sr. in Ft. Worth, Texas. The family moved to Amarillo in 1937 and soon opened Freeman’s Flowers, where they lived in the back of the flower shop for the first several years until establishing a successful business that Warren eventually passed down to his son Wilson. Freeman’s Flowers continues to thrive to this day.

Warren married Celine Seay in December 1957. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary 10 weeks before her death in 2020.

Warren attended Kemper Military school where he lettered in golf, swimming, and placed 3rd in Missouri state wrestling championship three years in a row.

He worked at Kidder, Peabody & Company as a stockbroker when the Dow average hovered around 3000. He enjoyed the brokerage business until the death of his father forced him to transition to the flower business to help his mother run the family business.

Warren served on the board of Llano cemetery for 6 years, was a past President of the Texas State Florist association, where he and a group of colleagues developed the Texas Master Florist program. He was a long-time member of the Amarillo Executive club and enjoyed the company of his dear friends, and fellow curmudgeons, “The Lunch Bunch” where they harassed the wait staff at area restaurants every Tuesday.

Warren was an amateur photographer and enjoyed telling a good joke, conversation with his many friends and, most of all, bass fishing. He traveled the world searching for the next big bite!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Celine, his wife of 63 years, a son, Warren Thomas “Tom” Freeman, and a grandson, Luke Gaston Freeman.

Survivors include sons, Philip (Lisa), and Wilson (Tonya); grandchildren, Hayden, Berkley Baggett (Colton), Austin (Mikkel), Hampton Thompson (Alex), Wils, and Savannah; and great-grandchildren, Taos, Ellie and Porter, with 3 more on the way!

Viewing will be all day Friday, April 23, 2021, at the funeral home.
