Wanda (Arnold) Blanchard passed away November 1, 2020, at the age of 86. She was born July 8, 1934 in Spur, Texas to Quincy and Tempie (Willis) Arnold. She married Dan Blanchard in 1951.
Dan worked in law enforcement in various Texas towns. Wanda and Dan lived in Stratford, Texas in 1967, until a train hit the car their children, Patrica 16, Don Lewis 15, and Teddy Joe 14, were riding in. All three were killed. Soon after, they moved to an area near Jamestown, California, where they started a business, Blanchard Security Patrol.
Dan died December 1997. Wanda later married Manuel De La Cruz, who died December 26, 2012.
Wanda is survived by one sister, Robbie Bates of Montrose, Colorado and one stepson, Daniel De La Cruz of Jamestown, California.
A service will be held in her honor on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Stratford, Texas with Michael Rinne officiating. Burial will be in the Stratford Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers of Stratford.
