Vicki Leigh Watson, 72, of Tucumcari, NM passed away on March 31, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Washburn Cemetery with Drew Travis officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo, TX.

Vicki was born in Dalhart, TX on February 15, 1949, to Leigh and Arther Allen.

Vicki was the director of the Small Business Development Center at Mesalands Community College.

She was married to Oran Watson for 48 years.

She was dedicated to her work and clients, her gardens, her pets, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arther Gene Allen, and her mother, Leigh Pool Allen

Survivors include her husband, Oran; her three children, Chelle Cooper and her husband James, of Odessa, Texas, Casey Morrow and his wife Jeannie, of Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Kent Watson and his wife Angie, of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; Jasper; and one brother, Burt Allen and wife Kathy, of Amarillo, TX.

    We are saddened to hear of the loss of our dear colleague Vicki. I am blessed to have known her during the latter years of her life. Almost every time she asked a question it made me stop and ponder. We had some great conversations about life. I am thankful for the great memories I have of Vicki.   14. So sorry for your loss! She was beautiful, funny and kind. I met her at our son’s football game. She came from work dressed in heels and a suit. We were on a school ground with no seats and I asked if she wanted to sit with me on my blanket. Little did we know what good friends our sons would become. We will all miss her. We send you our love and prayers.
