V. Doyl Langwell – November 10, 2011

V. Doyl Langwell, 70, of Amarillo died on Thursday, November 10, 2011.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd with Robert Field officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Doyl came into this world under a wandering star on October 14, 1941, born to Vaughnie B. and Carldeene Langwell.  After graduating from Amarillo High in 1960, Doyl met the love of his life, Linda Smith.  They were married for thirty-seven years.  She preceded him in death in 1999.   Doyl attended the University of Texas School of Pharmacy in Austin.  He was a member of Phi Delta Chi.  He graduated from the University of Texas in 1968 and remained a loyal fan of his Texas Longhorns.  Doyl was the owner and operator of Avondale Pharmacy and Home Health Care.  He taught Pharmaceutical classes at Amarillo College and served as President of Panhandle Pharmaceutical Association.
Doyl’s passion was helping people and he passes this passion on to everyone.
Survivors include his wife, Francine Langwell; two children, Elizabeth Bryant and Charles Langwell, both of Amarillo; two step-sons, Bobby Schaffer and Brad Schaffer, both of Amarillo; two grandsons, Justin Bryant and Hudson Schaffer; a daughter-in-law, Jill Schaffer; a son-in-law, Brent Bryant and two sisters, Pat Weaver and Linda Mills; and his father and mother-in-law, Cliff and Twyla Harbison; a brother-in-law, Riley Mills; a sister-in-law, Lynn LaFon; a aunt, Iona Reed; a niece, Janet Pascoe; and three nephews, Alex Mills; Tyler Weaver and Henry LaFon.
