Shy was born in Memphis, TX, on February 23, 1967, to Juanita Provence.

Shy was a Christian, homemaker, animal lover, avid gardener, and loved working with her hands.   Shy was fiercely loyal and passionate about her family and her friends; she loved each one without reserve.  She was always willing to help someone in need, whether it be animal, family, friend, or foe.  Shy’s personality showed in everything she did, she was spunky, sassy, funny, loving, and kind. Although Shy faced many challenges and obstacles in her life, she lived life fearlessly and on her own terms.   Shy met fell in love and married the love of her life Paul Allen on May 24, 1986.  Shy and Paul were married for 35 years.  Rarely did you see one without the other, they were each other’s soulmate, helpmate and best friend.  Shy will be missed by many family and friends, many that thought of Shy as their second mom.  Through the years Shy’s home, heart, and arms were open to multiple family members, and friends when help was needed.  God gifted Shy with a servant’s heart and as He welcomed her home on May 8, 2020, I know that Shy heard her Father in heaven say “well done thou good and faithful servant.”

Shy was preceded in death by her mom Juanita Provence, Uncle Buddy Provence, Aunt JoAnn Marez, cousin Amy Norris and Blanche Terry (mother-in-law)

Shy is survived by her husband and soulmate Paul Allen and their fur babies, her sister, ally and best friend Shane Patterson and her son Brandon Patterson, wife Amanda and children all of Amarillo.  Shy is also survived by her Aunt Tana Norris, Uncle Allen Murphy, Aunt Brenda Kleinbeck, Shy is also survived by many more family members, too numerous to name, who Shy loved deeply.
