Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with Brad Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Ruth was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Garden City, Kan., to Issac Loewen and Pauline Roberts. She grew up during the Great Depression. She married Sam Zielke on July 20, 1938, in Dalhart. Together, they made a great team and both were very wise in their financial and business dealings.
Ruth was a great cook and enjoyed making crafts and sewing for her family. Ruth adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed listening to her police scanner.
She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Lynda Diane McDonald, in June 1981; and her husband of more than 51 years, Sam.
Survivors include two grandsons, Kevin McDonald and wife Cynthia and Ryan McDonald-Willey and wife Kristin; and four great-grandchildren, Brittney, Chance, Hope and Kali.
