Ruby Jewell “Scottie” Scott Wright, 89, of Claude, died Sunday, May 22, 2011.  Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Claude Chapel, 200 Parks.  Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville, Texas.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Claude.
Ruby Jewell “Scottie” Scott Wright was born November 30, 1921 in Frost, Tx.  She is the daughter of Gordon Winfield Scott and Lula Fletcher Smith Scott. She graduated from Italy High School in 1939, where she was honored as a valued member of the Girl’s Basketball team.
As an expert seamstress, she worked at the Haggar Clothing Factory in Waxahachie before and after her marriage.
Scottie was married for 43 years to Jewell Orville “Joe” Wright.  They married on August 27, 1942, in Everett, WA.  Scottie returned to Italy, TX to reside with her parents, while her husband finished his Tour of Duty with the US Army.  They lived in Round Rock, TX, while Joe attended and graduated from the University of Texas Pharmacy School in Austin, TX.  They also lived in San Antonio, Arlington and then Grapevine, where they owned City Drug Store from 1966 to 1974. She also worked at the City Florist in Grapevine.  Scottie move to Claude in 1989 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Claude.
Scottie was a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband provided a loving household to their children, their friends and family, where all were welcome. She traveled extensively with her husband and family. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, a grandson, Jared Wright, and siblings, Marvin Matlock Scott, Lucy Rowena “Sitter” Scott, and Fannie Ruth Scott.
Scottie is survived by three children, Jay Orville Wright and wife Sherry of Waxahachie, Randy Clay Wright and wife Kim of Claude, Deborah Wright Martins and husband Tony of Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona;  three grandchildren,  Jami Wright Boxwell, Jeremy Owen Wright, and Julie Wright Crowell;  five great-grandchildren, Grant Boxwell, Cole Boxwell, Luke Boxwell, Sloan Boxwell and Skylar Wright.
The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity.
