On the evening of January 24, 2021, at 9:12 p.m., Rosendo “Ross” De Los Santos, 84, of Amarillo, Texas, made his entrance into Heaven.

Prayer services will be at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Power Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Rosendo was born in Runge, Texas, on February 2, 1936, to Espiridion and Gregoria De Los Santos. He grew up surrounded by the ministry of his father and at the tender age of eight began playing guitar during church services.

He was married to Santos Rodriguez on August 21, 1954, in Crowell, TX, later relocating to Amarillo, TX in 1960. He was a member of the Sunny Siders and the Sun Kings Orquestas of Amarillo. He later fully dedicated his musical talent and gift to the service of the Lord.

Rosendo surrendered his life to Christ and began his journey of becoming a faithful pastor, tireless minister, dear friend, committed father, loving husband, and incredible man we all knew and loved. Rev. Rosendo pastored Iglesia Betel loyally for over 40 years, building a legacy of faith and service to both God and community which continues through his family and the lives he has impacted.

Pastor Rosendo De Los Santos had a tremendous heart to serve. Any time prayer or wise counsel was needed, Rosendo was there to provide his love and compassion. Along with being the pastor of Iglesia Betel, he never hesitated to serve in whatever capacity he was needed. His service ranged from preaching, leading worship, to humble acts of church maintenance. Whenever a pastor was needed to officiate a funeral, Rev. Rosendo was called upon. He sat with families he had never met, got to know them and preached their loved one’s funeral, earning him the title of Pastor of the City. He formed an Alliance of Pastors in order to connect and serve the community alongside other ministers. His pastor’s heart included sharing the Word of God and dedicating his life fully to the ministry to which he was called to by God. At age 75, he entrusted the church he pastored to his grandson. However, he never stopped being a minister. He pastored until the day he stepped out of his calling here on earth and into his calling in Heaven.

Rosendo was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard DeLosSantos, Speedy DeLosSantos, Ray DeLosSantos, Lucio DeLosSantos, Robert DeLosSantos, and Lupe DeLosSantos; his sisters, Ofelia Lanning, Joyce Martinez, Rosa Rodriguez, and Odelia Stevens; and by his infant daughter, Victoria DeLosSantos.

Rosendo is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Santos De Los Santos; 7 children, Dorcas Vigil of Amarillo, TX, Armando & Serena DeLosSantos of Arlington, TX, Rosendo DeLosSantos, Jr, Sylvia & Julio Galindo, Dalia & Daniel Ortega, MaryLou & Luis Quinones, and Benny DeLosSantos, of Amarillo; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 6 brothers; 2 sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Rosendo DeLosSantos leaves a great spiritual inheritance to his family and all who knew him.

  3. Words cannot ease the pain of losing a loved one, but let God’s peace calm your spirits as you know where he stands today! I’m sure there is a wonderful jam session in Heaven with all the talent that is there now! Much love to all of you, from the kids of Ray De Los Santos!!

  4. To our dear brother, Pastor Phil and family,

The entire Potter’s House North family sends our love and deepest condolences in the transition of your beloved grandfather (Rosendo “Ross” De Los Santos). During this difficult time, be reminded that you and your family are safe in the hands of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

Although the transition of a loved one is never easy to bear, the Lord has promised us hope and those that sleep in Christ shall rise again.

Know that death is not an end, but a transition to a place free of pain and suffering. The word of God reminds us in II Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought a good fight, finished the course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”

As you walk through this valley of the shadow of death, find comfort in the sweet memories of your grandfather.

Please know that the Potter’s House North family is committed to praying for you and the rest of the family.

    Respectfully submitted,

Pastor Sheryl Brady & Bishop Joby Brady

On one occasion we needed someone to do a service for a baby that had passed away, my husband was on a mission trip. There was no one else that was going to be able to help me. When I called on him he said of course, with no hesitation.
