Roseann Denise Wells passed on May 8, 2020. She was born on March 4, 1959 in Amarillo, TX to Evelyn and Arthur Detten. She graduated from Alamo Catholic High School and WTSU. Roseann was a lifelong nurse in several capacities, greatly admired by her co-workers and patients. She was naturally empathetic and caring.

With the help of the fine physicians at MD Anderson, BSA, and the Harrington Cancer Center, Roseann valiantly battled illness, not once but twice, before peacefully moving on surrounded by her family. Roseann was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She loved her family dearly and was an inspiration all the way to the end.

She is survived by husband Monte Wells, daughters Emily Wells and Claire Seekins, brothers Steve Detten and wife Ann, Danny Detten and wife Bernice, sisters Arline Rohrbach and husband Eddie, Carolyn Jeter, Mary Hanss and husband Walter, Cheryl Demas, Elaine Detten, Janelle Detten, June Gabel and husband Don, Lois Pearce and husband Jim, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents Evelyn and Arthur Detten and sisters Madelyn Duby and Phyllis Campbell.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with David Ritchie from Redeemer Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M., Monday, May 11, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

  1. Roseann was my favorite boss when I was the coach driver. She treated me and everyone with the upmost respect. Even though she had to bail me out a lot.

  8. Roseann was the sweetest person I have ever known. She was a very good friend to me in my youth and I will never forget her. She was so kind. I will use my memory of her to be a better person. I loved her like a sister.

    I also want you to know that the Alumni Group for Alamo Catholic High School, St. Mary’s Academy and Price Memorial College/Catholic High School have been notified of Roseann’s passing.
