Ronnie W. Golladay – January 29, 2012

Ronnie W. Golladay, 76, left this Earth, Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.
There will be a private family graveside ceremony at Llano Cemetery with Danny Davis, Executive Director of the Hope for the Hungry, officiating.  Danny is the husband of Ronnie’s niece, Stephanie of Salado.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Ronnie was born Dec. 5, 1935 to Ura K. and Sterling E. Golladay in Memphis, TX.  Ronnie attended and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954 where he met his one and only love of his life, Janice E. Townsend.  Ronnie and Janice were married June 25, 1954 and had celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.
Ronnie was a registered public Land Surveyor in Texas and Oklahoma.  Ronnie and Janice, as a team, owned and operated Golladay & Associates, a land surveying company until his retirement in 2007.  Ronnie loved the outdoors and all sports.  He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf with his family at Tascosa Country Club.  He loved to work in the yard and do home renovation projects.
Ronnie, also affectionately known as PaPa, is survived by his loving wife and partner, Janice, two children, Greg Golladay and wife Julie, and Tracey Dickson and husband Mike, four grandchildren, Erin Golladay McLemore and husband Tim, Amanda Ann Golladay, Brad Dickson and Clay Dickson, two great-grandchildren, Max McLemore and Libby McLemore, all of Amarillo except Clay Dickson who is currently a student at Texas Tech University.  Ronnie is also survived by a brother, Lannie E. Golladay and wife Mary of Amarillo, and a sister Karen Berg and husband James of Temple.  Ronnie is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, and a very special four-legged friend, Callie, a black Labrador retriever.  He will be missed by all.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers and food that donations be made to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, TX 75219; BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105, or your favorite charity in Ronnie’s name.
