Robert "Rob" Musick – September 27, 2011

Robert “Rob” Musick, 63, of Dumas, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox with Rev. Jerry Howe, Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Dumas, officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Rob was born on August 5, 1948 in Dumas to E.W. and Jereline Musick.  He graduated from Dumas High School in 1967 and earned his bachelors degree in geography from West Texas State University in 1975.  He was a member of the ATO fraternity while in college.
Rob had been a student all of his life and loved to be on the computer.  He loved visiting with his friends and was a HAM operator.  He enjoyed sitting outside his home and watching over the neighborhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rob is survived by his sister, Rebecca Musick Saxton and husband Richard of Tucumcari, NM; a nephew, Russell Shafer and wife Andrea of Tucumcari, NM; a niece, Sandra Shafer Morgan and husband Jarren of Amarillo; four great nephews, Travis Lujan and Marc Lopez of Tucumcari, NM, Tyler Loftis of Clovis, NM, and Troy Dalton Shafer of Virginia Beach, VA; two great nieces, Alexandrea Salas and Ashley Ysco both of Amarillo; and a special friend, Kay Jameson of Shamrock.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O. Box 50610, Amarillo, Texas 79159.

    I am so sorry for your loss.
    There are no words that can express how much Rob meant to me. I am so blessed to have had him in my life all of my years at home on Durrett and life after.
    The great stories, the laughs, and all of the secrets we shared. It was always a blessing that he was always there for me anytime I needed him or didn’t…just knowing he was always there…I will miss him.
    I am sure he is still watching over Durrett

To Becky and her family Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss..No one has to tell you how special Robert was..We went to school and church together….He was quiet, shy, funny and so much fun to know..Most importantly, he was the strongest man I knew…..May God give you peace and love…You are in my thoughts and prayers..May he rest in peace…

    I am so sorry for your loss. There will always be a special place in my heart for Rob and your parents. I don’t know how many times I crossed Durrett to go to talk to Rob when he was outside. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
