Mr. Adcock was born July 26, 1943 in Abilene to Elmer and Lela Adcock.  He graduated from high school in Gruver and attended Abilene Christian University.  Mr. Adcock served in the Air Force during Vietnam.  After his discharge, Mr. Adcock moved to Amarillo and began working for Texas Employment Commission as a labor market analyst.  He married Joy Kirkpatrick on July 21, 1972, in Vega.
Dwain was a kind and gentle man. He was a friend to many and respected by all who knew him. He loved his God and his family. Dwain was proud to be a husband father and grandfather. He had a good sense of humor and always had a smile.  His love was boundless.  He never complained about his health and played with his grandchildren as often as he was able.  Dwain
proudly served his country in the USAF. He was the most honest, sincere, and godly man who led by example at home or work. He left behind a legacy that will live on through his wife,
children, and grandchildren that we should love one another and give thanks to God we were given the opportunity to be a family. His one regret was that he would not see his family grow, but he’ll walk beside us in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Joy Adcock, of Amarillo; a son, Lance Adcock and wife Olga of Amarillo; a daughter, Keri Adcock of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Nida Clark of Moriarty, New Mexico; and two grandchildren, Benjamin Adcock and Sofia Adcock.
A memorial has been established at Happy State Bank, 5100 S. Coulter, Amarillo, TX. 79119 for the benefit of Dwain’s grandchildren Benjamin and Sofia Adcock.
