Robert “Bob” Martindale

Robert “Bob” Martindale, 77, of Amarillo, TX died Monday, September 2, 2019.

A memorial gathering will be from 5-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Bob was born September 14, 1941, in Shamrock, TX to Joseph and Virgie Martindale.  He worked many years as a barber and artist.  He was a talented musician.  Bob loved life and was a Christian man, that wasn’t afraid to share his faith with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bobbie Skinner; and a brother, Clinton Elmer Martindale.

Survivors include two daughters, Traci Boyd, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Teri Cariker and husband Kevin, of Broken Arrow, OK; a son, Gary Martindale, of Lubbock, TX; a sister, Bonnie Martindale Thompson and husband Kim, of Amarillo; a brother, Clifford Martindale and wife Molly, of Pampa, TX; two sisters, Janie Mason and Winnie Moore, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  1. Robert shared a room with our dad Clyde “Ted”Cummings at Amarillo Skilled Nursin Center until our dad’s passing. He and our dad were good roommates. He was a kind, good-hearted man, and he was such a pleasure to know. When our dad passed, Robert said “well, he’s gone home.” Thank you, Robert, and the same to you too…

  3. As I know Bob was so loved by his family and friends, we send our heartfelt condolences to the family and close friends at this unexpected time. We pray for comfort and peace, in trusting in what is written as fact, that we are only separated for a short time and we will come together in Christ.

  4. I knew Robert from the Pickin’ Shack and through his nephews. Always love to hear him play and I loved the miniatures he made years ago.

  5. Teri, Tracy, Gary and Martindale family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. Our family is blessed to have his beautiful daughter, Teri, in our family. Knowing that Teri came from a loving family is the best gift a person can have. You have my love and prayers.
