Rethia Sue Tow, 70, of Amarillo, TX, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Amarillo, TX.  She was born August 4, 1950 in Portales, NM to James and Betty Odom.

Rethia was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Odom; her sister, Betty Gail Odom; and brother, Edward Wayne Odom.

Rethia is survived by her husband, Wylie Jay Tow; her daughter, Darla Beck and husband, Robert of Kyle, TX; her son, Stephen Tow and wife Destiny of Amarillo, TX; six grandchildren, Victoria Parker and husband Ty of Sanger, TX, Ashlee Downey and husband Tyler of Amarillo, TX, Debbie Tow of Austin, TX, Tiffany Washburn and husband Blake, Alex Tow, and Joseph Tow; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Evelyn, Ava, Lanie, and Levi; one brother, Mike Odom and wife Linda of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Reva Forrest of Amarillo, TX, and Debbie Luginbyhl of Borger, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rethia knew, loved, and served the Lord all her life. She loved spending time with the love of her life Wylie Jay, her family, and friends. She was very giving, helpful, and would open her home and loving arms to everyone! Every person who stepped into her house truly felt like family. She was a great and loving mother, granny, great-granny, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. She exemplified a servant’s heart by how she lived her life every day. Rethia loved watching old movies, listening to good music (often dancing with her husband Jay) and visiting with her many loved ones. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her grandkids. She was a true Christian woman and attended Trinity Fellowship Church.

A memorial service in honor of Rethia will be held Friday, March 12, 2021, at 10:00 A.M., at Trinity Fellowship Church North Campus, 503 E Willow Creek Dr.

Cremation Arrangements are under the care and direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

  2. Rethis was a true friend, a true mentor , and a loyal servant of the Lord. We went through many things thick and thin together. There was never a time that she didnt have the right words for me . I will truly , truly miss her. To Jay , I am so sorry for your loss. She truly had the love affair with you Jay , that most women only dream about. My heart and love go out to you and your family.
