R.H. 'Herb' Coleman, Jr. – December 20, 2012

R.H. ‘Herb’ Coleman, Jr., 81, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.   In addition, a celebration of Herb’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the Rio Rancho, New Mexico Elks Lodge.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Herb was born in Citrus County, Florida on July 12, 1931, and grew up in Berrien Springs, Michigan.  He spent much of his life in Amarillo, Texas, Berrien Springs and Savannah, Georgia. The last six years he has lived in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Herb served proudly in the United States Air Force in the early fifties and was a Korean War Veteran.
Herb worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for thirty years. He cherished his memberships at the Elks Lodge, The American Legion, and the Moose Lodge.  Herb never met a stranger and always liked to visit with his Lodge friends, his neighbors, and his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maurita Coleman.
Survivors include his son Craig Coleman and daughter-in-law, LaJuana Coleman of Placitas, NM; three sisters, Gwendolyn Susie Murphy of Naples, FL, Patricia McLaughlin of Savannah, GA, and Cindy Sutton of Charleston, SC; and three brothers, Hugh Coleman of Atlanta, GA, Bert Coleman of Woodstock GA and Stephen Coleman of Tybee Island, GA.  He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the charity of choice.
