Pat Barrett, 63, of Amarillo, TX passed away December 7, 2020.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 11, 2020, at Southwest Church of Christ. Private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Pat was born in Quanah, TX on June 25, 1957, to Virginia and Thad Tidmore. She graduated from Quanah High School in 1975. She earned her bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University in Education. She taught at Cactus Elementary School for seven years and at Whittier Elementary for the last eight years. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Pat married Galen Barrett in Amarillo, TX on November 4, 1990.

Survivors include her husband, Galen Barrett, of Amarillo, TX; sons, Cody Posey and wife Bonnie, of Amarillo, TX, Andy Barrett, of Albuquerque, NM, and Cody J. Barrett and wife Whitney, of Colorado Spring, CO; daughter, Casey Brown, of Amarillo, TX; brother, Ron Tidmore and wife Meg, of Roswell, NM; and eight grandchildren, Derek Brown, Trey Brown, Patton Posey, Caullin Brown, Rylie Barrett, Reagan Posey, Cade Barrett, and Bain Barrett.

    I taught with Pat at Cactus! She was an excellent teacher and a sweetheart to everyone. She was a bright light for anyone she met! She was kind hearted, and she had the biggest smile that would light up the room . She will be solely missed. May the Lord wrap his arms around you, and give you peace and comfort in the coming days!   3. Dear Galen and children, just know all of you are in my prayers. I loved Pat and will miss her greatly. If I can do anything to help you and your family please let me know. Pat and I worked together for several years at Cargill/Caprock and she always had a great attitude about everything.

  4. Alan and I are heartbroken and shocked to hear of Pat’s death. She was always so full of life and joy! We have so many wonderful memories of all the times we all spent together! You , Cody, and Casey are in our thoughts and prayers.

  5. Dear Galen, Cassie, Cody and family, I had the privilege of working with Pat at Cactus. She was always a joy to be around and the first to volunteer to help out where needed. We became good friends and she always had a smile when talking about any of you. Know that you were her pride and joy. The world was a better place with Pat in it and she will be missed by many. I’m so sorry and I’m praying that God will fill you with his peace and comfort that only He can.

    I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Pat. Please know that Mom and I are praying that the Holy Spirit will bring comfort to your heart. There are no surprises to God but this was certainly a surprise to many. May our Heavenly Father give you peace especially as you go through these next few weeks.   8. I nicknamed Pat “PBJ” because Pat Barret brought Joy to the Whittier Family.💙 She was an incredible teacher and friend. Her students and friends were blessed by her kindness and love. She was my sweet friend.

    I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers and I have no doubt Pat is with our Lord in heaven now.

    Please know how very saddened we are in the loss of our dear friend and sister in Christ. We hurt with you and for you as your hearts are broken with grief. She loved you all and served you with her love, strength and faithfulness.   11. Our hearts are so shocked and saddened to hear this today!! This will be hard for us because our hearts want to be there with Galen and the family, but know we have to be careful also, and hate that this world is like it is and keeps us away from family!!!
