Pascualita “Sally” Fergerson, 83 of Vega, Texas died on Saturday, December 31st, 2011.
Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Barnabas Radke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega.
Sally was born Pascualita Vargas on May 2nd, 1928, in Cleveland, New Mexico and grew up in Raton, New Mexico.
Sally served her country as a WAC during the Korean War. After being discharged she became a registered nurse. While a nurse she met her future husband Donald Fergerson and they were wed on July 26, 1958. She gave birth to two sons, Jeff and John.
In 1964, Sally took a position as the school nurse for Vega ISD where she remained until her retirement in May of 2000.
Sally was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Vega, a member the Altar Society, the local American Legion.
Survivors include her husband Donald of Vega, a sister Marcella Vargas of Raton, New Mexico, two sons Jeff and family of San Antonio and John and family of Midland, Texas.
She also leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great-grandchild.
Viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday at Boxwell Brothers in Vega.
