Onetia Horn Key

Onetia Horn Key, 94, of Amarillo, TX died Saturday, January 18, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Claude Cemetery in Claude, TX.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Onetia was born June 30, 1925, in Wheeler County, TX to Joseph and Bertha Horn.  She was a 1942 graduate of Spearman High School.

Onetia worked as a secretary and had been a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include her nephews, Dean Horn, of Farnsworth, TX, Brad Horn, of Oregon, Paul Rutherford, of Claude, TX, Arlin Close, of Laguna Beach, CA, and Greg Scott and Bill Rutherford, both of Amarillo, TX; nieces, Barbara Fowler, of Borger, TX, Ann Washington, of Amarillo, TX, Donna Soza, of California, and Edith Hornby, of New Hampshire; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the scholarship fund at First Baptist Church.

  1. Sorry for your loss. She had spent many Christmas days and other occasions with our family as companion to Gilford. He was very sad when she had to go to nursing care. They had a good friendship.
