Ola Mae Rice, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Brent Adams and Brad Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia.
Ola Mae was born June 12, 1923, in Swisher County to Henry and Mary Evans. She was a beautician in Amarillo for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ since 1960. She was a star basketball player for Happy High School. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and playing games, especially with the “merry widows” of SWCC.
She was preceded in death by a brother, B. Raymond Evans; and a sister, Opal Sims.
Survivors include a son, Richard Rice and wife Jane of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Cindy Willis and husband Mark of Cincinnati, Ohio, Christy Morgan and husband Jeff of Searcy, Ark., and Pam Moore and husband Brian of Amarillo; eight great-grandchildren, Mackey and Tripp Willis, Davis, Emma, and Ellie Morgan and Madison, Taylor and Rylee Moore; a nephew, Ronnie Sims; and two nieces, Janis Moore and Deanne Rogers.
