O.A. Bim – August 22, 2011

O.A. Bim, 92, of Amarillo, died, Monday, August 22, 2011.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Rev. Dan Carter, pastor at First United Methodist Church of Claude, TX officiating.  Private family burial will be in Memory Gardens.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Bim was born on May 27, 1919 in Manston, MN to Henry and Mae Bim.  He married Elizabeth Betty Myers on April 26, 1938 in Nowata, OK.  He loved to play golf and had played basketball for the Phillips 66 team back in the 1950’s.  He worked as a natural gas buyer/seller for Phillips Petroleum for 28 years.  Mr. Bim was a WWII veteran and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the staff at Connor House in Canyon for their care and love.  Also to Odyssey Hospice staff for the care extended and support provided.

He is preceded in death by his wife, and son, Robin Bim.

Survivors include his son, Brian Bim and wife Diane of Amarillo; sister, Darlene Seebers of The Woodlands, TX; and grandson, Brett Knight Bim and wife Kathryn of Wylie, TX.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109.

  2. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. O.A. and Betty were some of our favorite neighbors while we lived in Amarillo. We will miss them.
