Norman Allen Dysart – July 28, 2011


Norman Allen Dysart, 97, died Thursday, July 28, 2011.
Services will be Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Rev. Corky Holland of First Baptist Church officiating.  Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Mobeetie, TX Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Norman was born May 31, 1914 in Wellington, TX to Carey and Minnie Kesler Dysart.  He married Vircie Godwin on September 8, 1936.
Before retiring, Norman was involved in aviation.  He was an oil and gas land man as well as authoring a number of books.  He had a number of patented inventions.
Norman is preceded in death by his son, De Dysart; granddaughter, Mandy; his parents; three brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include his wife Vircie of 74 years; daughter Gayle (Max) Washington; son Haven (Terri); sister, Laverne Holcomb; grandchildren, Carey Dale Dysart, Cheryl Plummer, Melynn Hamilton, Laurie Hathaway, Todd Washington, Robin Dawson, and Christy Anthony; daughter-in-law, Jody Dysart; ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous relatives and friends.

The family will receive from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the funeral home.

    You will forever be the “Best Lookin’ Dysart”..I will miss your stories, your laughter, your sense of adventure, but most of all I will miss combing your hair…I will never ever forget the memories of me combing your hair for hours & hours. You were always so patient, handing me rollers & pins. We shared many stories as you had ‘your hair done’…Thank you for the laughs, my sweet Poppy…I miss you already…
