Norma Willetta March – January 31, 2012


Norma Willetta March, age 76, of Amarillo, went to be with our Lord and Savior on the 31st of January, 2012.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Corky Holland officiating.  Graveside service and burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
She was born November 19, 1935 in Amarillo with early years spent in Clarendon and high school graduation from Amarillo.  Willetta attended West Texas A&M University and earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education and was classroom teacher and later librarian for St. Andrews, Amarillo Independent School District and Boys Ranch schools.  Willetta was passionate about growing the mind and heart through reading and the love of books.   A lover of all things Panhandle she especially enjoyed artists, musicians and the theatre.  Later years found her travelling new destinations with both old and new friends.
She was preceded in death by parents Will Adam (W.A. “Bill”) and Lillian (Norris) Riney, along with husband Charles March.
She is succeeded by Cynthia Lynn Johnson (Amarillo), William David and Tracey Johnson (Montgomery, Texas), Dale Kurt and Shelley Bird-Johnson (Bartlesville, OK), Alan Daniel and Amie Johnson (Taos, NM), husband Carl Johnson (Amarillo), and grandchildren Berkley Kristina, Joshua Taylor, Christopher Ryan, Bethany Kirsten, and Jordan Christine.
The family suggests memorials be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX, 79174-0001.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at the funeral home.
