Norma Vivien Stratton

Norma Vivien Stratton, 89, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2019, at First Baptist Church Chapel with Howard (Howie) Batson officiating.  Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Norma was born May 5, 1930, in Amarillo to G.E. and Edna Jones.  She married K.A. Stratton on September 17, 1949.  Norma was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, K.A. Stratton, after 54 years of marriage; and a great-grandchild, Ezekiel Meier, age 22 mos.

Norma had many interests but the Sweet Adelines was her greatest passion. She was a member for over 50 years and served as the President of her local chapter and was given a lifelong honorary membership for her service to the chapter. She also had a great love of fairies…so much so that she had a fairy garden created in her home that visitors marveled over. She was happiest when she was around her family. She will be missed.

Survivors include children, George Stratton and wife Linda, Mary Wands and husband Sam, and Lori Sizemore and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Christina Jones, Kim Wood and husband Jerry, Shannon Meier and husband Brian, Melinda Bernal and husband Isaac, David Wands and wife Erin, Jonathan Wands, Keith Kincaid, Trey McCulluch, Tasha Yma and husband Jason, and Dustin Sizemore and wife April; and great-grandchildren, Simone Petrucelli and husband Mike, Madeline Harris, Evalyn and Evan Jones, Taylor Wood and wife Brianna, Cole Wood, Sherilyn, Lacey, and Samuel Meier, Shane Villagomez, Johnathan, Jacob, and Aspen Bernal, Amos and Adeline Wands, and Brayden and Brooklyn Sizemore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Friday, December 20, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

  2. I am so sorry to hear that my “Garm” has passed. Between her and PawPaw I would have never had family when I was a child. Those two took my parents (my father worked for K.A. at G.E. Jones) and myself and treated us like family. She was the only grandmother I truly had in my life.
